The latest buzz on the internet is all about LGN Prosperity – Little Guy Network. Called LGN for short, it is said to be a way for “the rest of us” to get ahead in internet marketing by banding together in a network of “little guys.” A bunch of small operators working together becomes one big force on the internet. That’s the theory, anyway. If you all stick together and work together, you can compete with the Big Boys in internet marketing and share the success.
Those who are new to internet marketing can easily be persuaded by the arguments put forward by this and other programs like it. It is very difficult today for anyone to make money online if they don’t have a fabulous product and a big advertising budget. Today, almost every form of advertising has the word “pay” in front of it. You have to pay for clicks, you have to pay to have your website displayed on someone else’s website, etc.
When you don’t have an advertising budget to begin with, it’s hard to pay for the advertising you need to do to generate more advertising revenue. You can’t seem to win unless you join forces with others in similar circumstances. Together, you might be able to generate traffic and income.
It all makes sense until you look more closely. Then the whole thing looks like just one more MLM or Pyramid scheme. You pay your sponsor for the opportunity to join the program. They in turn tell you that you will make money yourself by getting new recruits. It turns out that the products you are given to sell don’t count for much in terms of income potential.
All of this is well and good if everybody has a chance to profit. The critics say, however, that the more there are in your network, the less you can make. You are all selling the same thing, after all. After awhile, you are all competing with one another. At some point, the pyramid becomes too tall and just topples down, taking you and your investment with it.
That’s what the critics say. What about those who use these systems? Are any of them happy with them? Well, for one thing, they argue that since they are actually selling products, they are not technically a pyramid scheme. For another, some people who have joined the network say they have actually made money on it.
Something to think about is the fact that so many now successful internet marketers go their feet wet by joining just these sorts of network marketing schemes. They learned a lot from the experience and made a lot of contacts with whom they continued to communicate and share ideas with when they moved on to their own businesses.
Internet marketing is not something you just walk into. You need to learn the ropes. If you want to get in on the game but don’t know where to start, LGN or something similar might not be such a bad idea. Just as long as you can afford it and will not be hurt financially should you fail, it could be a good learning experience.
